Do and Do Not of Morning Sickness

So...this pregnancy is dominating me...big time.
Hopefully I will start to feel human again in the next couple of weeks...maybe? I pray so. My husband does too:)
Like I said in the last post, I have been struggling bigtime with the whole morning sickness. It is constant...day and night. Night and day. I have composed a list of some Do's and Do Not's over the past couple of weeks....so I thought I would share some if you are reading this and are/want to be pregnant and need the tips. If not, then, well, I don't know what to tell ya.
*Do carry a plastic bag (preferrably without holes), hairband/clips, kleenex/napkins, water, and crackers with you at all times.
*Do not eat Mike and Ike's as your only food for the day.
*Do keep Ginger Ale at your bed side.
*Do make sure that your toilets are clean at home (I know, TMI).
*Do not take your vitamins at night without food.
*Do breathe out through your mouth and not your nose during school lunch.
*Do keep some sort of mint to suck on with you at all times.
*Do go to sleep as early as you can at night.
*Do not eat Little Ceasar's pizza and crazy bread...not worth it.
*Do not fall asleep at work...you might get made fun of.
*Do enjoy a milk shake every once in a while.

That's all I have for now folks...ok, ok...that's just all the energy I have for now:)
Oh, Hayden flushed her underwear down the toilet tonight.

A Fourth

Four weeks ago, Nic and I found out some news that would change our family forever...in the best way ever. We will be adding another little baby to our family!!!! After getting over the complete shock and complete panic, we are so thrilled, or "stoked" as Nic likes to say. We were going to wait a couple more weeks before we shared with the world, but if you know me, I can't keep a secret very well...I suck at it. We got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the second time yesterday...and it was one of the most precious sounds in the world-thank you dad for putting my heart and mind at ease!
This is my fourth pregnancy. I now have 1 baby in heaven, 2 here on earth, and 1 growing inside of me. I can't help but smile every time I think about this. It has been by far the hardest pregnancy, however. The nausea and exhaustion are there 24/7. My toilet has been my best friend:) My co-workers have been such a blessing with their understanding and patience (seriously, they are the greatest). Nic has been an absolute saint. He has taken on the role of mom and dad most of the time due to my complete lack of energy. He cooks, cleans, changes those gross poopy diapers that make me wanna hurl, gets up with the kids during the night, gets up with the kids in the morning on the weekends, gets me random foods that I, in the moment, crave for...pretty much my hero. I have pretty much 0 social life due to the fact I go to sleep right after the kids are put to bed. So for those that call or text and I haven't gotten back to you...I really do apologize, I promise I am not ignoring you on purpose! Hayden is really excited, after a few weeks of not wanting another "brufer", and loves to tell people that there is a baby in my stomach. She has been so sweet when I am not feeling well and reminds me to take my medicine so my tummy feels better. Colt could care less.
Now, I know there are some questions out there. Was this planned? No...it took about a day to get over the shock and panic. How will we afford a third child? No clue. Are we excited? More than words can express. How couldn't we be? Are we crazy? Absolutely! When am I due? End of August. So I am still pretty early.
It is insanely hard to keep those awful thoughts of losing another sweet baby attacking my every thought.  I am continually praying for peace. I know that God has a plan for our family, I just have to trust it.
I will post a pic of our sweet baby from our ultrasound yesterday shortly. It's out in the car and it is cold outside:)

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Some fun quotes and actions from little Miss Hayden and Mr. Cole Bob worth recording:

*While working out with Nic, "I like this workout! It's awesome!"
*I thought it would be nice and relaxing to take a bath. About 10 minutes into my relaxation Hayden barges in with the most worried face ever, bends over to put her hands on her knees, and says, "Mom, dad is going (then she proceeds to cough). He needs help. He's sick." She came to tell me Nic was throwing up while doing his workout.
*While playing with her dozens of little Mickey and Toy Story figurines, I hear her say, "I love you Story 3. I love you, I love you, I love you. I do."
*Not 5 minutes later I hear, "Bad Mickey. Bad. Bad. Bad. You get a spankin'."
*Hayden has found a real love for working out with Nic. Like, absolutely loves it. She gets upset when its over.
*The other night I was sick to my stomach. I had to be at the toilet (I know, TMI), so I put the kids in the bath so they weren't running totally loose around the house. Hayden looked my straight in the eyes and said, "mom, you sick? You need your medicine? Your tummy hurting you? Take your medicine." Ha. She has been taking this powdery stuff for her stomach issues so she thought I had the same problem.
*For some reason, she walks around singing, "I shake my booty, I shake my booty." Not sure where she is getting that one.
*The other day I asked Hayden where Bubby was. She replied, "Oh, he is just hidin' so he can poop."
*Colton has been spinning round and round and round until he falls, gets up, falls, gets up, falls, and laughs like crazy.
*He is now saying, "Night night. I love you." Melts my heart.
*Every morning when I go into Colt's room to get him out of the crib, he immediately asks, "Where's daddy?" Then proceeds to run to our room looking for him. If he isn't there, he freaks out.
*Our little man has a fascination with our toilet...not to use it, but to see how many items he can stuff in there in the amount of time Mom or Dad turn their backs.
*Colt has been talking more and more each day. Some of his favorite things to say is: "Where daddy/sissy go?" "I want milk." "Thank you." "Love you?" "Pease." "I don't wanna." "I go in baftub (bath)." "Basset ball game on." There are many more, my mind is just not remembering at the moment.

Snow Day

I am really lacking with my blogging. To tell you the truth, it has been a little hard getting back in the routine of things. My energy is lacking, which means I am going to bed shortly after I put the babies to bed:) Hopefully my body will get with it and remember how to do real life.
Anywho, last night we were "blessed" with a ton of snow, which made for a 2 hour delay today. Honestly, I was very thankful for the extra 2 hours at home, but also a little annoyed that no other school around us had school today because of closings. Oh well! At least we won't have to make it up at the end of the year:)
Hayden was SOOO stoked when she woke up and the "snowman" was outside! I knew that she wanted to go out in it so bad so I promised her I would take her out when I got home. So, that's what we did. We got all dressed to go outside, and don't worry, nothing really matched. But we were warm.

Nic is gone tonight doing security at a game, so it is just me and the kids. Colt is sound asleep and Hayden and I are snuggled up on the couch, with our fake fire. That means I am going to get off this thing and enjoy the rest of the night.

Is break over already? :(

Hmmmm...didn't realize it has been a whole week since my last post. Maybe that is because I have felt like there just hasn't been time to sit down and write. I need to get back in the groove of things. I can hardly believe that tomorrow we return to school. These past 2 weeks have been great...Especially since we have been together as a whole family for the last week.

We returned from Tennessee on Friday. You know, it was a great week away with my little family...but man, am I tired. Going on vacation with 2 toddlers is a lot of work. I didn't post during the week because, well, we did the same thing almost every day. We got up, made breakfast, hung out until the water park opened, went to the water park until nap time, returned to our little room for naps and lunch, get up and go back to the water park, come back, make dinner/grab dinner out to get out of the room, come back, play, go to bed. Since we were all in one room, we went to bed when the kids did. If you ask me, I loved it. I was exhausted by the time bedtime rolled around. We did get to go out hiking one of the warmer days, which the kids LOVED. I think they would have stayed by the stream all day if we would let them. One thing I absolutely adored this "cation", as Hayden put it, was watching Nic with our babies. They wanted to be held by him constantly and just wanted to be with him. It meant the world to them that they had the undivided attention of BOTH of their parents for a whole week. Now, again, the pics below aren't the best quality because they are from my phone. :)

It will be hard to leave these precious babies tomorrow morning as we return to our routine. But I know that God gave us that time because he knew we needed it as a family. As I listen to them run around the house, laughing at each other, I can't help but thank God for His blessings on our family. We have our times, and man do we, but right now the pure innocence of their giggles makes the whole world right.

New Year's Day

December 31, 2011

We made it! After 9 ½ hours, we are all settled in our little room that is our home for the next week. It has been a while since we last traveled a long period of time with 2 kids. It’s interesting. Here is what I learned from our trip down…

1.     When traveling, make sure to have some kind of DVD system available.
2.     Always travel with a toddler potty…if you forget it, it makes for lots of stops and many tears (shed by both toddler and mommy).

3.     Make sure to have PLENTY of snacks.
4.     Make sure to have plenty of liquids.
5.     BRING HEADPHONES for the stinkin’ DVD player.
6.     Don’t travel on Gatlinburg’s busiest day of the yearJ

All in all it was a smooth trip with not too many stops. The kids did well for being as young as they are and let’s face it, we are here.

It is now 8:13 and all four of us are lying in bed. I am thinking this New Year’s Eve is ending early for us.

January 1, 2012

Happy New Year!! I still can’t believe it is 2012. What a year it has been. Lots of ups, lots of downs, lots of prayers. Lots of laughs, lots of tears, lots of joys, lots of sorrows. It was a year of learning.

Today we started our new year waking up in Tennessee. The kids did great sleeping all through the night and even slept until 9:00. It was wonderful. We took our time getting ready while the kids played with the basketball hoop….this toy has been the best thing we could have broughtJ

Our day consisted of heading to the grocery store, making lunch in our little room, heading to the indoor water park, taking a nice long nap, heading back to the indoor pool, making dinner, and relaxing in our room. Nothing too exciting but still a wonderful day with my little family.
