Hot Hot Hot

So I know I have procrastinated a little in writing this, but I have been a little busy enjoying the little munchkins:)
On Saturday, the kids and I went with my parents to celebrate Papa's birthday. It was a great time with all the cousins and aunts and uncles. The kids especially enjoyed playing with all the cool water guns and balls that Aunt Robin brought. They got along great and it was just fun to sit back, talk to family members that I don't get to see very often and relax.

The kids did well, even without their nap time. I really thought they would sleep all the way home, but they did this instead...

Oh well...better than screaming:)
Sunday we celebrated Father's Day. Nic was playing in a softball tourney all weekend so he didn't get home till around 2. We took a little family nap and then headed to my parents' house for a cookout. I enjoyed celebrating not only my own father, but the father of my children. They are both incredible dad's.

Today was HOT. Nic returned to the road today. I decided to take the kids to the park down the road. We played for awhile until I thought I was going to completely melt! But the kids enjoyed it. I also promised them that when they got up from their naps that daddy and I would take them to the Splash Pad. All in all, I think the kids had a good day and should sleep well tonight. I pray I do!

A Little Pool Action

Have I told you yet how much I am loving summer break? Well, I am...still:) We have had perfect weather the past couple of days and I have been very thankful for the opportunity for the kids to play outside most of the day. After a long winter inside, this has been delightful.
Nic left for Tennessee yesterday morning for a week of training. I miss him already. Actually, I started missing him about 30 minutes after he left. I know, I am pitiful. So, I packed up the kids and headed to my parents...hehe. I am pretty sure my daughter has been going through withdraw from my mom and dad...she has been crying for them every night and wakes up asking if Gamma is coming to get her. I promised her we would go see them yesterday...and we are still here:) Lucky Poppy and Gamma! They thought they got rid of us for the summer;)
The kids are in heaven here. Poppy got the little pool out and the kids have practically lived outside for the past day and a half...even with the pool not all the way filled. I have to admit, I even got a raft and laid in the pool when it was only about 2 inches deep...it was hot out there! The good thing about all of this is they sleep quite well!
The kids were out in the pool by 9:15 this morning until it started raining. Gamma suggested going to McDonald's so they could get all their energy out. It was perfect. They played and played and then slept!! I even got a little nap in there. I told you I am liking this thing called summer!

On another note, if please, please, please pray for a little girl named Hailey Cullip. She is 4 years old. I went to school with Hailey's Aunt Ashley. They found out on Friday that Hailey has a brain tumor in the center of her brain. They started surgery around 12:30 today and said it could last anywhere from 8-12 hours. Last update was they have removed some of the mass and are still trying to remove the rest. My heart broke for the Cullips. While I don't know them that well, I just could not imagine going through this with one of my children. Pray for Drew and Natalie (the parents), the doctors, and Hailey. Please pray that God will guide the hands of the surgeons. Pray that He will wrap the parents in His arms and shower them with peace. Pray for Hailey that she will fight this. God is the GREAT PHYSICIAN.

Summer Break is Finally Here!!

We are now in the month of JUNE!!! We are on our 3rd day of Summer break, and I have to admit, I am LOVING every second of it. I have been trying to soak up every second of every moment that I have with my babies right now. That could be why I am just now sitting down to blog:) Both the kids are napping and I am sitting in quietness. Anyways, I thought I would catch you up on what we have been doing so far this summer through pictures:)
On Wednesday (first day of break), we headed to the zoo with Poppy and Gamma. It was a gorgeous day and the kids were in LOVE with all the animals.

When we asked Hayden what she wanted to look at first, she responded with, "SPIDERS!"

 This was my favorite part:)

Thursday, Tara and I took all the kids to a park/splash pad that we found last year...the only problem was when we went to play in the water, we found a sign that said it didn't open until 12. It was 10:30. We had some VERY upset little children. So, Tara found a different place in Mishawaka by the River Walk that was absolutely perfect. The kids played in the water and had a picnic for lunch.

I can't tell you the joy I am feeling being able to wake up with the kids and spend all day with them. While we do have our patches and our fits, I never want to take a second for granted.
